EHS Manager

Our client is looking for an EHS leader in their growing Arizona facility with their #1 branded product! This is an integral role to the plant and will have a spot on the plant leadership team. Ideal candidate must have food/bev manufacturing experience with extensive environmental and safety background.
Essential Duties:
Initiates and facilitates all investigations of accidents/incidents to determine the root cause of any such accidents/incidents. Provide documented analysis and recommendations to prevent further instances.
Collect, prepare, and provide safety and environmental reports per local, state, federal.
Maintain regular communications and participate in planning activities with Corporate Safety. Provides communications as needed to corporate regarding any EH&S related issues.
Inspects the facility to identify safety, health, and environmental risks to ensure facility and employee compliance of all environmental, health and safety requirements.
Develops and implements inspection policies and procedures, and a schedule of routine inspections.
Develops health and safety procedures for all areas of the company to actionable levels through development of processes and training assuring procedures and work instructions reflect actual practices.
Prepares and schedules training to cover emergency procedures, workplace safety, and other relevant topics.
Monitors compliance with safety procedures.
Drafts inspection reports to document inspection findings.
Ensures that material safety data sheets are maintained and readily accessible when needed.
Maintains records of exposure of hazardous waste and/or pollutants discharge to environment or employee, as required.
Provides regular communication of environmental, health and safety issues to plant employees.
Conducts environmental, health and safety training for all employees.
Conduct and perform audits and training sessions on various shifts and work hours for all plant operations.
Sustain a high level of interactions with plant employees.
Manage, monitor, and report Safety Committee activities.
Ensure that the plant is audit ready for the annual Corporate Safety Audit.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Experience:
Five years of related experience preferred
OSHA 30
CSP (Certified Safety Professional), CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist), or equivalent preferred
Food and/or Beverage Experience
Certified as a PIT Trainer or attain certification
Extensive knowledge of environmental regulations and policies.
Basic Knowledge of DOT regulations
Bilingual – Spanish/English
